Position Title: Startup Ecosystem Operations Manager
Reports To: Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR)
Compensation: $50,000 annually + benefits

Position Purpose
The Startup Ecosystem Operations Manager’s (SEOM) primary responsibility is implementing and executing strategies developed by Velocities – an Elevate Ventures partnership with Bloomington and Columbus, Indiana, including board administration, operations, and communications; working closely with the current Entrepreneur-in-Residence to track progress of regional startups; assisting with the planning and execution of all meetings and events.

Responsibilities
Supporting Entrepreneur-in-Residence (40%)

  • Track startup progress, engagement, and other metrics set by the board across the Velocities partnership region
  • Summarize and identify emerging trends across the region and bring them to the attention of the EIR and Velocities board
  • Attend regional events as a Velocities representative when the EIR is unable to attend

Marketing & Communications (40%)

  • Implement regional community outreach, marketing, and stakeholder management strategies, including the production of communication such as the annual report, stakeholder reports, and press releases
  • Manage and execute Velocities events across the region, including collaboration with board members, Elevate Ventures, regional stakeholders, and others
  • Manage Salesforce CRM, including startups, founders, and other stakeholders. Communicate emerging trends or barriers to the Velocities board during monthly meetings
  • Website and social media, including creating and maintain web content and creating social media campaigns to distribute news and events

Board Operations & Administration (20%)

  • Plan and attend monthly Velocities board meetings – including securing venue, preparing agenda, drafting and circulating minutes, and following up on action items discussed
  • Manage special projects identified by the board
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience

  • BA/BS degree in marketing, communications, business or related field
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Analytical skills and good judgment, with the ability to gather and digest information quickly and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Interpreting data, organizing, coordinating, and scheduling
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM is preferred
  • Experience with entrepreneurial companies in a similar outreach role is a plus, but not required
