Spring 2021 ReBoot Wraps Up With Demo Night

by Apr 2, 2021

The spring 2021 ReBoot, sponsored by Velocities, is a wrap!

The seven participants in the first cohort of our new entrepreneurial development program for the formerly incarcerated pitched their businesses live over Zoom. Danielle Morris won the night and took home the winning prize of $2,500, sponsored by Velocities. Her business Heroine Studios provides photography services to help women in recovery from substance abuse reclaim their self-esteem. All participants received memberships to The Mill to support their continued entrepreneurial growth after the program.

The Mill sends a big thanks to our judges:

  • Christopher Emge, Manager of Talent and Education at The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce
  • Samantha Ginther, Senior Associate & Head of Platform, IU Ventures
  • Adam Gross, Director of Industry Outreach and Personal Enrichment, Ivy Tech

“We’re thrilled with the success of the ReBoot pilot,” said Andy Lehman, Head of Accelerator Programming for The Mill. “We learned so much from our partners, participants, and guest speakers, and the participants showcased great ideas on demo night.”

Shout-outs are also due to our amazing partners: Stacy Flynn of New Leaf – New Life and Marilyn Burrus of Courage to Change. We could not have done this without your engaged, thoughtful support.

In addition, we’re grateful to our generous speakers: Mark Harsley, CEO of Kitemail; Cy Megnin, Entrepreneur-in-Residence for the Velocities region; and Pete Yonkman, president of Cook Group. Finally, thanks to all of the mentors and other partners who helped us make this program a success.

We’re currently seeking sponsors for the fall 2021 cohort of ReBoot. To learn more, contact Andy Lehman.
