Uplands LEAN Network Feb. Meeting

How has COVID-19 impacted your improvement efforts? Join us for a spirited panel discussion on how COVID-19 has impacted lean and process improvement. We will discuss problems, solutions, the good and the bad that has come from driving process improvement with the limitations caused by the virus. In many cases, the necessity to change has led to better processes — better continuous improvement processes. The panel will come from different industries, so we will get a well-rounded viewpoint. This will be a fabulous opportunity to learn how other organizations have changed in terms of process improvement over the past 12 months.

Navigating the Lean Journey with Keynote by IU Health

"What a long, strange trip it's been." Is this a Grateful Dead rock band lyric or how most people and companies feel about their lean journey of continuous improvement? Join WVLN/ULN as they explore and share their lean journeys. Chuck Russo from IU Health will share "Navigating the Lean Journey" covering how IU Health started from ground zero to where they are today. No matter if you are just getting started, thinking of getting started and/or somewhere along the process, join WVLN/ULN for a fast-paced and informative presentation as Chuck gives us a first hand tour of IU Health's lean culture. The second part of the event will have breakout sessions to discuss and ask questions about introducing and/or using lean processes and lean culture in your organization. They will cover your own development, learning about lean and continuous improvement and working with lean and process improvement initiatives. This will be an opportunity to learn and share your experiences. Beginner, Intermediate or Expert..... WVLN/ULN wants you to be part of the breakout groups and this virtual event!

You will look at how standardized work can be used in several different applications and industries.

WVLN/ULN Virtual Event – The Human Side of LEAN: Managing Burnout and Transition in the Workforce

Two years of COVID changed all organizations. It has affected how we work and perhaps why we work. One can make the case that many of the changes that would have happened during this decade have been compressed into the past two years. One area that certainly changed is the workforce and all of us who make up the workforce. All aspects, at all levels, are different than they were two years ago. What have we learned, how have we survived and how will we "succeed" moving forward? Do we define success differently? Join WVLN and Uplands Lean Network as we navigate through the people/workforce challenges of a post-covid world with our fabulous panel: Becca Holbrook, Human Resources Consultant, Employee Engagement, IU Bloomington. Becca's LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/becca-holbrook/ Bruce Wade, VP of HR for IU Health South Central Region. Bruce's LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/brucewade2606/ Shawn Williams, HR Manager, Boston Scientific Spencer, IN.Shawn's LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/shawn-williams-sphr-shrm-scp-719408/ The panelists will share their experiences and challenges with a focus on what is happening now within their organizations. The session will provide actionable ideas and different ways of thinking that you can apply the same day. Don't miss this one! Register below on Eventbrite.
