Nominations Open for 2021 Community Innovation Awards

by Jun 21, 2021

The feel-good days of summer are upon us. It’s a great time to show some love to our community’s brightest stars.

This year, in partnership with our friends at the Herald-Times, we’ve made it even easier and more fun to recognize outstanding local businesses and individuals. The Best Places to Work, Fast 15, and FUSE Innovation awards are now all under one umbrella: the Community Innovation Awards. Check out the new website here, and nominate a deserving business or individual to get the recognition they deserve. Then mark your calendar to join us at The Mill on October 11 for a swanky soirée with friends.

Best Places to Work is in its fourth year of recognizing our community’s top employers. The competition is open to any business with 6 full-time employees (or the equivalent) located in Monroe County. This year we lowered the bar from 10 to 6 employees to give more of our awesome local small businesses a chance to shine.

Nominating is easy! Just tell us the name of the business and give us contact info, and we’ll do the rest. We distribute surveys to employees at the nominated companies, and then we compile and weight the scores (employee surveys count for two-thirds of the score, employer surveys for one third). Final rankings include a few special categories to recognize employee development and recognition programs.

Nominate a business for Best Places to Work! Deadline to nominate is July 21, and yes, you can nominate your own company.

Fast 15 recognizes the fastest-growing businesses in our community and the star employees who make things happen. Know someone that the company can’t live without? The person who gets things done, finds solutions, and is the go-to person you want on your team? Make someone’s day: notice their great work.

Nominate a star employee for an MVP award! Deadline to nominate is August 9. You can submit multiple nominations, and yep, self-nominations are accepted.

The FUSE Innovation awards recognize superstars in our thriving tech and innovation scene. Check out all the categories and descriptions! Know an amazing company, entrepreneur, mentor, or community leader in the startup ecosystem?

Nominate for one category or all of the FUSE awards! Deadline to nominate is August 9.

And don’t forget: on October 11, we’ll gather at The Mill to clink glasses, announce the winners, and celebrate the amazing people and businesses in our community. See you there! And until then, please get busy with the nominations!
