Entrepreneurs, inventors and start-ups can pitch innovative proposals to southwestern Indiana defense and economic development industry leaders on June 28 at Radius Indiana’s third annual virtual “Crane IP Defense Innovation Pitch Competition” with royalty-free IP. The intellectual property is being offered royalty-free at this time, in the hopes of spurring commercialization and business activity. The technologies available can be viewed here.

A free, casual monthly get-together at The Mill for remote workers to take a break, connect to community, and eat lunch on us. Join us! Working remotely? Connect to community! Take a break from eating at your keyboard and join other remote workers at The Mill for free lunch & casual networking and chat. Open to Mill members and the public! The deets: Third Wednesday of every month, noon-1 pm, in the Classroom (or outside, weather permitting) at The Mill in downtown Bloomington. Lunches will be boxed, with vegetarian and gluten-free options available. COVID safety: The Mill is proud to be a leader in COVID safety. Masks and social distancing are required. Please sign our COVID waiver before you arrive. Parking: Guests may park in the Trades District garage at 10th and Rogers, or use metered street parking on 11th, Morton, or Rogers. There is one ADA parking space located at the corner of Madison and 11th on the east side of the street. Free short-term (2-hour) parking is sometimes available on Rogers or on 11th St west of Rogers. Bike racks are on the west and south sides of the building, and the #2 bus travels along Morton Street.

Demo Night for the PROPELS Accelerator

Join NSWC Crane, The Mill, and Dioltas for a pitch night like no other! Entrepreneurs and companies will pitch ground-breaking new products and platforms they've developed using patented tech from the Navy in the PROPELS Accelerator. The PROPELS Accelerator is a rare opportunity for entrepreneurs and companies to commercialize patented military technology. Participants spend six weeks working intensively with Crane and entrepreneurial experts to develop a commercialization plan to turn naval tech into a new product or platform. Celebrate their achievements with us at The Mill!

The intellectual property is being offered royalty-free at this time, in the hopes of spurring commercialization and business activity. The technologies available can be viewed here. The competition is free for participants and will be held virtually. Entrants will receive a template to create a slide presentation for the competition. Upon registration, please look for an email from pitch@radiusindiana.com with more information on the event.

Reboot Summer 2022 Applications Open

ReBoot is a free, six-week program to help people turn business ideas into business plans. Entrepreneurship presents powerful opportunities for individuals and communities. Here at The Mill, we want to create more inclusive access to those opportunities. We’re offering three sessions of ReBoot in 2022, each tailored to the needs of a specific population: Spring 2022—veterans Summer 2022–formerly incarcerated Fall/winter 2022—women impacted by the pandemic Participants in ReBoot learn how to focus their business ideas, get customer validation, and present their business to potential investors. They’ll have access to mentors, successful entrepreneurs, and a slate of inspiring expert speakers. At the end of the program, participants deliver their business pitches, and the winner takes home a little seed money for their business. All participants receive part-time memberships to The Mill, where they can take advantage of additional free programs to grow their businesses and connect to an extensive network of mentors and investors.

In this 4 hour session, we'll be playing a startup game, enjoying food and drinks, and delving into startup tools that can help you bring your ideas to market.

Elevate Nexus Statewide Pitch Competition

Hosted annually, the Elevate Nexus Statewide Competition is comprised of companies that have won a previous Elevate Nexus Regional Pitch Competition that are looking to compete for $40,000 pre-seed or $100,000 seed follow-on investments in a live pitch to a panel of Elevate Ventures judges. This event is free and open to the public with registration.
