The repairs are expected to take approximately 12 weeks once construction on the wall begins. So far, the work has focused on stabilizing the structure to ensure safe and effective repairs.

A structural issue was discovered that requires attention to ensure the building’s safety and long-term stability. These repairs are a critical part of preserving and maintaining our beloved historic facility.

The event hall will be closed throughout the repair process. Its door has been removed from Proximity, and the space is off-limits to staff and members during construction.

While there may be intermittent noise, the rest of The Mill remains open and fully operational.

The wall is being carefully repaired rather than rebuilt. To preserve the historical integrity of the building, bricks are being removed and restored one by one, section by section, moving west to east.

The work is being carried out by BOLDIN Construction Group and Umphress Masonry, both experienced in historic building preservation.
No. While we’ve had a rainy season, the current issue is not weather-related. It’s due to the natural aging and wear of a 110-year-old building.
Our staff noticed that the wall appeared to be leaning and immediately reported it to the City for assessment.
As of now, sixteen events have been successfully relocated. We’re awaiting final timelines from the City to determine the full extent of future impacts and are working closely with event organizers to find solutions.
We estimate that approximately $36,000 in event revenue has been lost so far due to relocations.
