It’s that time of year again: time to nominate Monroe County businesses for Best Places to Work awards! After a year of pandemic remote work, it sure feels a little different to talk about best “places” to work. But the spirit of the award is the same: shining a light on our community’s best employers and celebrating the rich opportunities for our talented citizens.
Even though many of us have spent the past year working from the sofa or the guest room at home, the best companies in our community still deserve celebrating, now more than ever. We may not be celebrating the great times we had over coffee and donuts in the office, or that great retreat we took together that left us energized and full of stories. This year, we’re celebrating companies who built strong culture, provided outstanding benefits and training, and supported employees under the most challenging circumstances.
Maybe your company found new ways to build community and connection as the months of separation wore on; maybe your company went to the mat to keep you safe, or to make sure no one lost their job; maybe your company just kept on being as awesome as it ever was. We know that our community’s major employers stepped up their game during the pandemic. We also know there are great stories of small businesses who showed incredible ingenuity and grit to find a way to help employees through the pandemic. We want to hear your stories!
The Best Places to Work awards are presented by the Bloomington Economic Development Corporation, and are open to any Monroe County employer with at least six full-time employees (or the equivalent). Nomination just takes a minute. We take it from there and follow up with surveys to employees and management. After the scores are tallied, we’ll celebrate the top companies at the Community Innovation Awards evening party at The Mill on October 11. It’s going to feel so good to gather together and toast our shared success. Special thanks to our media partner, The Herald-Times, for helping promote the event and publicizing the winners.
Nominate your company today! Let’s recognize who was there for our community when we needed it most.
