B-Start Applications Open Until September 21

by Aug 29, 2018

B-Start, the Bloomington Economic Development Corporation’s (BEDC) startup accelerator program, has its applications open again for prospective startups. IU students, Ivy Tech students and Monroe county residents are welcome to apply. This unique program pairs entrepreneurs with great ideas with mentors, allowing for startups to receive actual business experience in a constructive way, as well as the support and guiding vision that entrepreneurs need in those critical stages of early development. Mentors include Pat East, Executive Director of Dimension Mill, and Terri Willey, Director of the IU Philanthropic Venture Fund. The one important requirement of the B-Start program is that participants must reside in Monroe County for the duration of the program. This requirement incentivizes participants to stay in Bloomington and Monroe county and gives them unique access to the vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem in Bloomington. B-Start companies have gone on to become finalists at the Innovation Showcase in Indianapolis, the Clapp IDEA Competition, IU-Velocity Conference, and more. You can apply for B-Start here. Applications are due September 21st!
